So today we headed back over to the trail Fred, Erik, and Tanya did yesterday,
all of us went the first half,
Courtney was able to tell us the names of so many flowers and plants-this is Indian Paintbrush,
she's explaining puzzle grass,
a few turned around after this meadow and the rest of us went on,
water stop, it's awesome to be able to fill up on the hike and not have to carry so much water,
it occurred to me that Clint was actually hiking, the only hiking he normally does is to scout game-he still had his game eyes open though,
this was our turn around point-where this huge avalanche occurred,
hmm fur,
we headed back after our group picture,
snow,
Naomi looked like she was floating through the trees,
Owen discovered a way to be Darth Maul
and he opens his double sided light saber with sounds effect,
Evan and Fred started sword fighting with Fred talking like a knight out of the middle ages-it was pretty funny,
back at the castle the boys had more target practice,
then us kids (as opposed to grandkids or grandparents) headed to the lake for dinner out,
this was a house Erik had lived in,
Courtney went to school with Michael Vali-the chef at Vali's Restaurant since kindergarten,
it was AMAZING-this bread with the garlic clove absolutely changed my life-oh my gosh I am not kidding, it is very difficult to get reservations here-Courtney pulled some strings,
there are two seatings and everyone is served the same thing, there is a different menu (I'll post it on Saturday's blog) for each day of the week-I am dreaming of that bread,
That was really weird weather, an electric storm with thunder and winds-they got it really bad up on The Divide-no forest fires started though-no rain either, Erik has been sleeping out under the stars with Erica, Owen, Courtney's girls most nights. The night sky is spectacular here-the Milky Way is so vivid and clear-I wish we had taken the time to figure out the setting on the camera to take pictures. I've never seen stars like that except at Fred's house. What a perfect Wednesday, August 24th.
