Kauai'i Day 3, Friday

Friday we left Barking Sands, which is at the western end of the road and headed north to the other end of the road.
Waikanaloa Cave.
Life growing on the rock wall.
Hike 3: 4 miles along the Kalalau Trail on the Na Pali coast. It was a long drive and too late in the day to hike any further. The trail is 11 miles to the end which is the Kalalau Valley pictured on the Day 1 hike.
We were smart and wore our tabis on this muddy and wet hike.

Ke'e Beach below.

We crossed the river to Hanakapi'ai Beach.

On the way out, Michelle, Owen and I were walking together. We got to see tons of whales breaching and spouting. It was truly glorious. We also saw this toad merrily hopping along.
After our hike we headed to 'Anini Beach, our camp site. Charlie and Erik were again racing the sun to get the tents up before dark.
