Erik playing with the camera again,
Saturday we went on the Waimano Ridge Trail, I love this hike-each time we make it a little bit farther,
there are great tunnels,
vines,
tones of different fruit,
hanging out while it rained for a few moments,
huge old trees,
more fruit,
beautiful flowers all over the ground,
this is supposed to be 15 miles round trip, this time we did about 8.5 of it,
bamboo section,
maybe someday we'll do the whole thing.
Derek took Erik and Evan for a night dive,
they saw some pretty cool creatures,
they are excited to go again.

The USS Utah
Erik had a very rare opportunity to dive on the USS Utah. The National Park Service needed some surveying done. The Utah was a battleship sunk on December 7, 1941 during the attack on Pearl Harbor. She took a torpedo hit forward at 8:01 and rolled to port, at 8:12 her mooring lines snapped and the Utah rolled over resting where she is today. There are 58 men interred on board the Utah.
This plaque is mounted on the wreck's superstructure. The Utah's starboard side is visible above water. USS Arizona is the only other ship that remains as a memorial at Ford Island.
