Last Day of Beginner Sailing

The boys are the only boys in the class.  They are with 5 girls.  Usually 4 girls are way out front and the two boys and one other girl bring up the rear.  The boys are always last to get their boats set up because they have trouble with their knots.
Owen always takes his time, never panics or stresses out,
So there they go to catch up.  Unbeknownst to the moms watching, Owen had become one of the 4 up front on Tuesday and one of the girls had slipped back into the rear group of three.  When they went out today I happened to notice their sail numbers.
When the front group of 4 came around I said I see the #4!  The sailing instructor had them racing three times around three buoys today-Owen was second!  I was so impressed.  The instructor even said he was most improved.  Well, the boys passed the beginner class and get to move on to the intermediate class.  Both are excited and all weekend kept saying, "I want to go sailing, I can't wait to go sailing again."  On the way home I kept telling Owen how proud I was he came in second.  He says in his little Owen voice, "I was just sailing."
