Wednesday, October 7, Cozumel

Erik took the kids out to Cozumel,

they got to drive go-carts.

While they did that, Karen and I headed to the Mayan ruins at Tulum.
Some locals caught baby turtles, sadly I think they were eaten,
Tulum is truly amazing and really beautiful,

the detail,

some of the art work was still visible inside of this building,

iguanas were everywhere,

the beach is so beautiful,

entrance in the wall surrounding the city,
another entrance,

another entrance,

red hand prints,

birds were flying all over, the smaller ones were too quick for me to get pictures,

the limestone cliffs,

another entrance,
the people of the Yucatan are all descendants from the Mayans and other ancient tribes, still speaking the language, and we were told living very much like they did then, especially in the remote areas.

Back to the ship,
for a pirate party,

Erica and Melanie, pirate wenches,
monkeys,
the desert part of the pirate buffet,

the day is finally done.
