Odds n Ends

Last Friday I took the kids (and a friend) to the Scholastic Warehouse book sale (for some major deals) and then to Burger King for $1.49 Whoppers jrs. and cones. I thought it was so funny how they all wore their crowns the whole time.
Poor Evan, I feel bad after my post about him being scared of a half dead bee on his shoulder because a few days later he got stung by a living bee. It hurt for two days then swelled up and itched like crazy.
Owen was all excited because he found this leaf bug.
After dinner games.

A Daddy Day Out

That's what we call the Saturdays Erik keeps the kids out from morning until dark.
They started at art and went to Zippy's for donuts,
the museum to pet the dinosaurs,

dig for bones,
make lava,
play at the pool,
the movie Astro Boy,
a chance to warm their hands in the "fire place" at the commissary, and then dinner at Arby's, plus they still had time to play outside for about an hour. Whew, I get tired just hearing about it.

GO NAVY!!!!!

In honor of my home and amazing memories I am posting some pictures. Hope everyone is watching the game. There is nothing like seeing it in person but I must say this year I am glad to be watching it in HI.

I have to include a photo of a yard dog.
I just know you are rooting for Navy Michelle and Charlie! Navy all the way! This rivalry beats yours I think!

So What's Up With Erik...

This is his act of defiance. At his work the navy is trying to make the civilian divers conform to the military way such as wanting them to take on collateral duties, standing muster in the mornings, waste valuable time when they could be out working, etc. So as a peaceful protest and visual reminder that he is indeed civilian, Erik decided to rebel and not shave. It must be working because the Master Diver is irritated and asked Erik where his no shave chit was.
Luckily though, Erik did shave this weekend. Up close it wasn't very pretty at all.

Saturday

After art Erik took the kids for breakfast...their favorite-Zippy donuts.
Then they went to the Army museum.

Then to the Dole maze,
and finally home to play. Erica made a beautiful beaded tattoo around her wrist.

Our Weather

Winter is finally here! We have the best winter weather.
First comes a bit of rain,
then the cool temps,
and some BIG surf Brah! There's been some 40 footers and the temps have been in the 70's. Can it get any mo' bettah?

Furlough Friday

We dropped the kids at art for 7 hours, Erik took off from work and we spent the day together.
We tried to find some things for Christmas but was pretty much unsuccessful but at least we got the whole day to ourselves. Notice anything odd about Erik? More about that later.
