Big Saturday out

The kids at art with Ms. Alison their fantastic teacher.
Daddy fixed breakfast-donuts and coffee. Owen always picks one bigger than he is.

Trip to Sealife Park to visit the sea turtles...

and the dolphins. The kids had a blast. They ended with dinner at Arby's...mmm...roast beef sandwiches and curly fries.

What are we looking at here??

Tanya is always showing cool pictures-snow in June, not enough numbers to read the thermometer in the winter...who can top that! We've got disappearing landmarks this week.

Where did Diamond Head and Waikiki go?
The mountains are gone!

It's not raining and no storm is coming.

It's not pollution or clouds.
It's VOG-a big huge dose of sulphur dioxide! Kilauea must be going crazy, we have so much voggy air. This is by far the worst we've seen. Sure hope those trades come back soon.

Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

We went on a hay ride with our home school group and then got to pick pumpkins. It was a pretty hot and sunny day (can you tell by the let's get this over with and go home and take "the opposite of a hot shower," as Erica put it, expressions??) so I am sure our foray through the fields weren't nearly as festive as ones on the mainland but we try. If you are asking yourself if that pumpin patch really as pitiful as it looks and are those pumpkins really as rotten as they look...yep, sadly it is and they are...

Big Saturday Out

Morning at the museum checking out the sharks. Erica is holding her webkin-a Chihuahua she named Black Lab. She always wears unmatching socks too...and her brothers' hand-me-down play clothes.
An afternoon of rocket launcing on the windward side. Owen setting up his rocket.
And we have lift off...very cool shot. Wish it had been clearer so you could see the very beautiful mountains.

It was really chilly today. We froze actually. It was windy and cool-only hit 77 degrees burrr...

Snow!?...in Montana

Since we don't have any pictures of our own up I am going to show you what Erik's sister, Tanya, woke up to in Montana. This isn't thier first-they've had dustings and snow in the mountans. We have no concept!
Actually here is a picture of Erica and her friend, our neighbor, Nea (pronounced Nay-uh). They were roasting marshmellows last night.
