Works vs. Grace

"First believers must clearly recognize that they are under grace, not under the Mosaic Law (Romans 6:14). Believers must always remember that the life they now lead is not on the basis of the Law, but on the basis of the grace of God only. The contrast is that , under the law, it was taught, "Do it because you have to" and "Do it in order to be blessed." But under grace, it is the opposite, "Do it because you want, " and "Do it because you have been blessed."

Grace is God's unmerited favor to sinners; grace offers salvation as a free gift to all who believe; God has the ability to show grace; grace cannot be earned, is not deserved, cannot be bought; and God's grace is unlimited.
