Bible Study

Ephesus was an ancient Greek city and later a major Roman city becoming the second largest city in the world. The city was famed for the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It is also the site of a large gladiators' graveyard. Later Ephesus became the "flagship" of the Christian churches in Asia Minor. Today, the archaeological site lies in the Izmir Province of Turkey.

The Letter to the Ephesians is Paul's third epistle. Paul starts out his letter with offering grace and peace. God is in charge and He is faithfully working out His good and acceptable and perfect will. We are secure in Him due to the riches of His grace. God's blessings are ours.

Sometimes we may realize we are behaving like our mother and father acted when we were growing up. Paul admonishes us to walk so close to our Savior that His way of life becomes our way of life and His acts of love become the same caring acts we perform in our walk through life. How can we be transformed into His image?

  • read the bible
  • study the gospels
  • pray
  • deal with sin quickly
  • avoid ungodly people
  • love God with all your heart
  • always share in the name of Jesus

When we are obedient to God and rely on the power of the Spirit we will experience our heavenly blessings in Christ as they manifest in God's

  • peace in our life
  • love that is unconditional and constant
  • faith that is strong and unwavering
  • grace with continued blessings

*The Holy City, Jerusalem* (John Starnes cover)

Summer Week 4

There is no way "stuff" can blow up and become perfect and life sustaining not to mention so beautiful. Explosions only bring destruction and disorder never anything higher and greater than what it began as.
We spent this week at VBS in Operation Space. We seriously felt like we have been at Space Camp for a week. It was amazing and exhausting at the same time.
Here the kids are in the tunnel,
we painted their shirts to match the teams they were on-Erica was Saturn, Owen was Neptune, and Evan was Jupiter,
I had a team of younger kids that I fall in love with every year, we were the Pulsars, here is Victoria from my team helping with our songs
Pastor Mike taught the bible lessons,
Erica and Owen at games,

Pastor Bob teaching the Space lessons,
a very involved Dad-Matt took a week off to be Captain Walker and direct the whole week, Hoku (in the middle) who was my team helper last year has an amazing story and a great example for our boys goes off to the Navy in September,
last day...can't wait for VBS next year. This was Evan's last year, he really wants to come back.
Erica is so imaginative, she made this little animal area and played with it for the longest time,
she's using the left over paints we got to decorate the VBS shirts.

Happy Father's Day

to my Dad.

Summer Week 3

This week Erica had horse camp. How gorgeous is that view!
Learning to post.

Evan did have tae kwon do,

On the last day of horse camp they went for a trail ride,

Erik went along with Erica which thrilled her to no end, he is 4th from the left-a natural, Erik's Dad spent many years on a ranch and as a horse trainer,

after the ride they went to the feed store and had to make a list of what they would need if they owned a horse,

Erik and Erica were having such a great time they decided to spend the rest of the day together,

awesome way to kick off Father's Day weekend.
